Practical information on arrival, stay and departure
Location
Pura Vida is located in Ostend's Mercator Marina. On our website you can find the exact location on the map. The houseboat is located opposite the Burlington hotel (Vindictivelaan 18 Oostende, via the Kapellestraat you can enter the harbour through a gate. The code is sent to you by e-mail, 50 metres further via the pontoon you will see the houseboat.
Arrival/key/code
The houseboat is available from 3 pm, the boat is within walking distance of the train station and several public car parks.
You can pick up the key at Caenen real estate office, Vindictivelaan nr 5, on all days between 9am and 5.30pm except Wednesday/Sunday. The real estate office is 200m from the boat.
If the key is lost, contact the real estate office on 0032 (0)59 404 030. There will be a 50 euro charge so please take good care of the key.
If you arrive at another time, we will give you the code of the key safe. It is located on the boat to the left above the door (entrance).
To access the port, go through the gate on the bridge at Kapellestraat. The code will be sent to you by e-mail.
Stay
The boat has every comfort, towels and bed linen are provided. Please use water and electricity normally. An extra charge will be made for abnormal consumption.
You can regulate the heating by thermostat, the kitchen is equipped with microwave, fire, dishwasher , toaster and refrigerator. Please use the appliances with care.
Next to the boat you can access the marina's premises via the pontoon, if you wish you can also shower here and you have a washing machine/dryer.
Wi-Fi is available, the network and code will be communicated to you by e-mail and is also available in the boat.
You can enjoy the sea air on the foredeck. Here you have 2 deckchairs, a table and chairs at your disposal.
Security
Upon entering, you will find the evacuation plan on the wall immediately to the left in case you need to leave the boat.
There are life jackets in the bedroom cupboard.
A fire extinguisher is available in the dining area next to the kitchen furniture.
Extra vigilance is required if there are children or persons on board who cannot swim. Never leave small children alone on deck and always accompany them when getting onto the boat or leaving via pontoon.
Departure
Good news: the boat will be cleaned for you.
Please leave the kitchen clean (empty the dishes and put them away in the cupboards).
Dispose of waste in the public waste containers (operated with a 50 euro cent coin). The containers can be found when leaving the port through the gate on the right.
Return the key to the Caenen real estate office, vindictivelaan 5. If the office is closed, deposit the key in the letterbox. Failure to return the key will incur a charge of 50 euros.
In case of broken glass or other damage, please report this when returning the key or via e-mail puravida.houseboat@gmail.com.
